Priest Offers The TLM Near Planned Parenthood to “Make A Few Demons Quake!”

Our Fight Is Not Against Flesh And Blood, But Against Powers And Principalities!

By Christine Dhanagom, DENVER, CO, April 23, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Prayerbooks, rosaries, and pro-life pamphlets are a common sight outside Planned Parenthood’s massive facility in downtown Denver, but this year, local organizers of this spring’s Forty Days for Life campaign decided that one last piece was missing to bring the light of Christ to the country’s second largest abortion facility: the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

The idea to celebrate the Catholic Mass in front of Planned Parenthood came from Fr. Joseph Hearty, Assistant Pastor at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in nearby Littleton, who felt that it was time to “pull out the big guns.” It was, he told LifeSiteNews, an inspiration from the Holy Spirit.

“If we can pray the rosary, why not offer the Mass, why not use the Mass and the Eucharist as a means of fighting this tragedy,” he said. “Why not use the most powerful means that we have?”

As it turned out, the idea energized the local pro-life community far beyond what organizers had expected. Fr. Hearty planned for thirty attendees at his first Mass on March 3rd, and got a hundred.

Providentially, an empty parking lot right across the street from the Planned Parenthood owned by a pro-life couple was big enough to accommodate the crowd.

As a member of the traditional Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, Fr. Hearty celebrated the traditional Latin Mass, known as the Tridentine Mass. Diocesan priests have also gotten in on the action, though, with six different Masses offered in the parking lot during the Forty Day campaign in English and Spanish. All six Masses were well attended, averaging between fifty and a hundred persons.

A March 31st closing rally kicked off with a Spanish Mass, followed by a rosary led by Bishop James Conley, apostolic administrator for the Denver Archdiocese. In comments at the rally, Bishop Conley urged pro-lifers to vigilance as Planned Parenthood continues to build “mega-plex death mills” across the country, the Denver Catholic Register reports.

According to the Register, over 300 people attended the rally, which ended with a second Latin Mass celebrated by Fr. Hearty. There were so many at the final Mass that the priest returned to the altar four times to break up the hosts for distribution before finally running out.

The popularity of the idea, says Fr. Hearty, is a sign that “people really want to do something.” He hopes the idea will spread, and in particular that clergy in other parts of the country will be inspired to become more involved in pro-life work.

“That’s our vocation,” he said. “We’re there to mediate, and we’re there to lead, and we’re there to encourage.”

As for the effort in Denver, organizers are hoping to build on the momentum and establish a regular schedule of Masses in front of the clinic, continuing to wage spiritual warfare against the nation’s largest abortion provider.

“Our fight is not against the world, it’s against principalities and darkness, it’s against evil, it is against the devil,” says Fr. Hearty. “Why not make a few demons quake?”

I think that using the Holy Mass on a public street or lot, as well-intentioned as it probably is, can open the door to sacrilege of the Holy Eucharist perhaps resulting in someone taking it to use at a black satanic Mass. We must exercise prudence in this type of situation. However, I do recommend a 7-day “Siege of Jericho”. What is this? First: someone who is good at carpentry can make an “Ark” similar to the Biblical Ark (a smaller version, of course) which would hold the Blessed Sacrament, the Bible and a small statue of our Blessed Mother. It would have poles attached to carry it and it would be carried by volunteers (or seminarians in habits), led by a bishop or cardinal and other priests in vestments. Someone with a “shofar” would blow the horn (and/or trumpets and trombones, and beat drums) at the beginning and several times while processing 7 times around the abortion clinic with protesters following: singing songs of praise and priests leading prayers against the evil one while swinging censors with incense and sprinkling of holy water and holy salt. This effort would be done 7 days in a row. The message would have an impact, not only on the evil one, but also on those coming to PP for an abortions, etc. and on the abortion providers themselves, especially those who would know what it means to do this. Those who are Jewish would especially recognize what the implications of a “Siege of Jerico” could do to make their “walls” come tumbling down. This 7-day, 7x around the PP edifice event could be filmed and placed on “You Tube”. Others would get the idea and implement it in their own cities which host PP clinics. Perhaps, those who do the “40 Days of Prayer” and “Priests for Life” would participate, too. Perhaps, even orthodox Rabbi’s and pastors of other Christian faiths would participate, too. What a positive and powerful witness this could be; i.e., if everyone participating was charitable, kindly and well-behaved! Please think about pro-life people doing this. It would be an awesome witness. When the press came on this scene, they could receive pamphlets explaining this with the Biblical passages cited. It could also be an evangelistic tool to bring people to Christ. Of course, those participating should receive counsel ahead of the event privately, and together pray, have a special Mass and fast for its success in closing PP clinics and an end to abortion, too. Prayer like this is a powerful weapon against all evil. I hope that anyone who reads this will seriously think about doing this. It could be done once a month or at least quarterly. I will pray that this will happen somewhere and soon. What have pro-life people got to lose? Personally, I think that we all have everything to gain from doing something like this. The Church Militant must act like the Church Militant and go into the spiritual battle. Perhaps, the TFP will join this effort, too. Not only would this be powerful, it would be peaceful, too and ultimately, would be victorious! This strategy would certainly upset the status quo of the pro-abortionists, if nothing else and they would wonder what us pro-lifers were up to doing. It has the potential to destabilize them and they would not know how to overcome this type of spiritual battle. I encourage at least one protest group to try this. If it works well, others will copy it. I exhort you NOW! Blow the shofar! Blow the trumpets and trombones, Beat the drums. March and shout! Onward Christian soldiers! Sing the Battle Hymn of the Republic with gusto. Carry only the Bible and/or your rosaries. No signs are necessary. Just imagine the scene and imagine what will happen. We know what happened at Jerico!

Praise God! The Mass is our most potent prayer in offering Jesus to the Father. This is not a form of protest but a deliverance of evil!

Has any thought ever been given to demonstrating in front of a company or organization that doesn’t pay their workers a living wage?

God bless this good priest. The only Latin Mass offered in my diocese is two hours away from my home.

Using the Holy Mass as a form of protest could very well be a sacrilege.

The Holy Mass is offered, not as a protest, but it is being offered to obtain from God the Grace, out highest prayer A Holy Petition. to stop these satanic rituals of killing innocent lives. Not a protest, but a Prayer. ‘Only God can bring this horror to an end.
