Priest Reveals What He Truly Thinks About The HHS Mandate
Fr. Leo Patalinghug You Tube Video addresses the HHS Mandate in a very distinct manner. Please know that Fathers target audience is for a younger audience, so the editing is geared along those lines. It is well worth watching.

HT to Father Z:
Obama Notre Dame Speech
“Let’s honor the conscience of those who disagree with abortion, and draft a sensible conscience clause, and make sure that all of our health care policies are grounded not only in sound science, but also in clear ethics, as well as respect for the equality of women.” Those are things we can do.”

Go Father Leo! Excellent!
Well done my good and faithful servant!
Very good! We need more priests like you!
May God continue to bless the clerics for standing
firm in your faith. Thank you.
Thank you for speaking out..
God Bless you father, words well said.
Great video Father however to the 54 percent of Catholics that voted for him I say how can you be surprised. He is the most pro abortion president in the history of this country. Did you really think that the health care law was going to conform to Catholic teaching? To the bishops-thank God that you have awoken from your slumber and are speaking up against Obama!! It is about time and I pray for all of you that it may continue. The next move should be to excommunicate the politicians that call themselves “Catholic” but support anti life agendas. That would send a strong message to all Catholics that you are serious about saving souls! Pray, pray and pray some more that he is not reelected in November!!!
In God’s time, the Sleeping Giant has been awakened!!!!
I will stand by my Creator and the Creator of all. Ad Maximus Trinitus Glorium!
P/S a priest who knows and can cook too!!
Father Leo, we need more like you, thankyou
I definitely agree with Kathleen regarding the 54% of so-called Catholics who voted for Obama and regarding the bishops finally waking up.
All I can say is that you cannot be Catholic and pro-abortion.
God bless the Father for taking a stand against the HHS mandate. As a retired military officer I feel the presidents position has disrespected our rights and just continues our death sentence for our babies that have a soul from the second of conception.
Thank you Father Leo for your outstanding video message. In my humble opinion the United States of America MUST NOT re-elect Obama. If he is re-elected, this country will be doomed to a future of dictatorship much the same as the horrible years of Hitler and Nazi Germany ! I believe in this country and the original Constitution, the Amendments to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights…. We must not give up our valid fight for LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS !!! Let us pray !!!!
PRAISE BE TO GOD! I am happy and prayerful that the Catholic Church has somehow
awaken to the Devil’s workshop. I think that it was an American right to invite
the President to speak at Notre Dame but,,,,to honor him with not just one but
three honors, was in my opinion, and a parent of a Notre Dame Alumni, a disgrace,
this man’s record of wanting to kill the unborn and the born surviving an abortion,
has and is on the Ill. records, the only time , not voting present and voting yes
for infantside is still on record. I THINK A LOT OF CATHOLICS should take responsibility for voting for this guy.
Thank-you father, well explained, hope it is really heard and understood!!!!
God bless you Fr. Leo for speaking out and doing what you were ordained to do. I sure wish all the priests would start shepherding as they were called to do. As our Blessed Mother keeps repeating we must “pray for my shepherds”. The devil is having a great time with our world, and we all should be praying the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel to defend us and help us in this battle against evil.
, a Priest, propogating hatrid bleeding his beliefs on others, is so anti Christian. What would Jesus do, he would use all his fingers and spank this priests butt. And that would be appropriate, what a shame that he is hiding behind the church and behaving so badly.

Hello Becky,
Did you watch the video? I hope you don’t mind the editing for charity.
God bless,

Kathleen dittos…..my comment question is similar to one above When are you gonna do something about professing Catholic dissenters. There are many things that one finds may be doctrinal but not necessarily scriptural an therefore allowable but choosing life is a fundamental Christian doctrine that those among us dont have a justifiable reason for disobeying. Why is this allowed?
Now that is true charity: the courage to say the truth. Pray that more priests live the Catholic Faith, rather than let the devil tickle their ears!
Great job Fr. I think its great and i totally agree with you. Thanks for all you do for us. Keep it up.
Ps: We saw you in New Melle,mo. My kids LOVE YA
Well done Father Leo! Keep up the good work and God bless you!
EXCELLENT FATHER!!!!<3<3<3
Right on target Fr. Leo!!! I hope other priests would be as courageous and proclaim their dissent at the pulpit.
Wonderful Comments! Go Father LEO!!!!
Great!! You go Father Leo! You hit the nail on the head! God Bless you for your efforts!
Wow Fr. , nicely put,! I pray that you are heard, God bless.
This goes out to “Becky”: Father Leo is no more imposing his will on you than anyone else. He, like other faithful Catholics, believes in free will. Every person must, in the end, make the conscious choice to do good or evil. But, even though we each have free will, we still have the duty to give a good example to others, and not to offer scandal; we each have a duty to our own soul, first and then to those around us, in the hopes of guiding others toward the good. And, as a priest, Father Leo has an even more explicit duty to speak out and guide by example and speech. Furthermore, don’t you find your own comments just a little bit ironic? Father Leo is not imposing his view on anyone; but those he is speaking out against certainly are. Same as it ever was. This “don’t impose your beliefs” on us rhetoric has been around since the Roman times, and contains the same faulty logic it contained then. Let me get this straight, Father Leo and other faithful Catholics have to stay mute and just accept unjust laws because you and others are offended by OUR views? Really? What happen to the “rights” we all supposedly have? Oh, I see, only leftists and materialists have rights. We who believe that there is an Objective Truth to be embraced – we who believe there are such things as good and evil – we should be “spanked”. But, those of you who think Abortion is a “right” and who trample on the very idea of an objective moral order, your offended and feel wronged? By what standard? If everything is up for grabs – if each of us gets to decide every question for himself (and especially things like abortion), why are you angry? Can’t we also decide for ourselves? No? Get behind me, hypocrite.
To my fellow Catholics:Catholics by and large have ignored the sound teachings of our Holy Church because they can only see $$$ before their eyes.Catholics are like “hookers”, they sell themselves to the highest bidder. The same evil that propelled Obama into the White House will manifest itself in the next election and he will regain the presidency.Lenin was right when he said Americans will be “our useful idiots” to gain us power. The majority of Catholics will prove him right again.
Father Leo, you give me tears of joy and sorrow, I know how right you are, and I am with you 100%; or, thumbs up! The church is so right to be against contraceptive and Abortion. Every child is so precious, from conception to birth. Our Lady will be so proud of you Father Leo. I am also! that is why you give me; tears of joy and sorrow! The woman who listens to you, her child; in thanks to listening to you, will be more than proud of you. Karen
I’d like to see all of Becky’s comments.
Hooray, for our truly good and holy priests who stand up for Truth, especially standing up for the infants in a mother’s womb. Keep praying everyone, we know Jesus already won the battle with the devil. Pray more and more, especially for our good Priests like Father Leo. Keep asking the Holy Spirit to enlighten the others, and may God have mercy on us all. Prayer and fasting may be required to stop the evil one.
Dear Fr. Leo,
Your video is so good, and humorous! It is becoming more difficult to find humor anywhere, especilly in the political realm. I have watched this video several times, and it seems better each time. It has been years since my eyes and ears have had such fun! Thank you for defending our church and faith. May your courage spread to all priests and bishops.
God bless you, Fr. Leo!
As a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, I could not agree more with Father Leo! Praise God for all of the clergy who are speaking out on this horrendous mandate.
I nearly fell out of my chair laughing as I watched the video. Great stuff! Refreshing to say the least.
Well done Father Leo! Thank you for standing up for our Faith and may God bless you for encouraging all of us to be braver in defence of the Truth.
Well done Father. I know the young people want to hear what is right. You are courageous. This video was eye catching and targeted to your young audience and others like me a mother of a thirty something adult child and his friends. I am also an advance practice nurse who has seen all sides of the HHS. You are so right freedom is the right to choose and do the right thing. My prayers are for you and all of the worlds people.
Thank you, Father! Now you need to give this talk to Sr. Carol Keehan, the president of the Catholic Health Association who has helped deceive many Catholics and Americans into believing Obama’s “accommodation” settled everything. Will you please remind her that it is the bishops who speak for the Catholic Church and not her, and will you also remind her that her soul is worth more than the pen she got following the signing of Obamacare? And one other thing, Father: the Notre Dame speech wasn’t the only time Obama promised he would respect conscience. Has everyone forgotten his executiuve order? You know, the one which said there would be no federal funding of abortion and that conscience would be respected? (Or is tax money not considered “federal funding????”
for Becky ,,,……Have you seen the video? if not/or did pray and watch it. Hope you will have a change of heart. GOD BLESS.
This was so great….
god bless you fr you see in jax fl in may at the mem conference
This is great, but other christians believe in the commandment, Thou Shall Not Commit Murder, it is not just the Catholics. It would be good to see other Ministers standing up for the faith.
[...] you go and make any assumptions, you will have to watch Fr. Patalinghug’s latest video called “Priest Gives Obama HHS Mandate The Finger?” Did you know that we took some heat for posting that last video. Not because of the content of [...]
I am trying to figure out what happened to the Catholic laity between 1968 and the present. Our culture has changed; but our Church and its teachings have not changed.
Have we as priest been so poor in our preaching that teaching from the pulpit and in our high schools and Universities.
I think rather than merely looking at the symptoms as to what is happening in the Church we must look at the systemic problem .. and in all honesty that could be we priests in our lazy minds at times have not done our ministry very well.
I congratulate Fr. Leo on his message; and we should have had this fire in the belly preaching long before now.
When people like Nancy Pelosi and some of our Congress people flaunt the Gospel and Church teachings then something has happened.
Veni Creator Spiritus .. we pray
Father Joseph, SJ
Well done Father Leo
Way to tell it like it is, Fr. Leo! We need more and more and more priests and Bishops to confront Obama on his LIES!
Gods Blessings on you Fr Leo & thank you. You have a great cooking show.
Dear Father Leo,
Thank you for giving us a great example of the practice of heroic virtue, which is one way people become saints! You have wonderful gifts for communication in a delightful and hilarious way!!!!! I’d like to view your commentaries every day! They make so much sense! Can hardly wait to see your future videos! God bless you and your work.
Fr. Leo
I not only get it! But I think it was a very creative way to get your point cross+++++ “I thank you for standing up! God Bless you….
Thank you, Father. Keep up the good work.
Something that I have yet to see talked about in this debate is the fact that estrogen/progestin are hormones, and in addition to their use as oral contraceptives, they are used to treat a variety of illnesses: polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, adenomyosis, menstruation-related anemia, painful menstruation, etc. These are serious conditions. Most are extremely painful, and some even life-threatening. As things currently stand, treating these conditions is often not covered by insurance, regardless of diagnosis. Where does the church doctrine stand on this? Should patients with these diseases be referred to Planned Parenthood?
A little research into this topic makes me so very concerned about my church, and what I see as political grand standing. Not only do various Catholic universities fully cover contraceptives, but the Archdioceses of Miami – where I grew up – shows coverage for contraceptives (and other medications, not in-line with the vision of the church) in it’s plan. (http://www.adomhealthplan.org/medical_benefits) On one side, I’m happy to see that folks with a medical need will be covered. On the other, I’m worried about what is being said in the media by church leaders, and it’s direct opposition to what is being done. The reasons for the inclusion of parables regarding the pharisees in the bible are becoming exceedingly clear. I’ll continue with my concern for my church, and it’s current and future leaders. I will continue to pray, and attempt to do the right thing for all who I encounter, regardless of any pontificated judgmental hypocritical political nonsense, veiled in a claim righteousness. Blessings to all!
Concerned Catholic, I never heard of insurance companies not paying for birth control pills no matter what you had. The insurance company you’re talking about must be a lousy one. It’s a lie out in the media that some women can’t get birth control pills from their insurance company. Also, the Church allows birth control pills to treat disease or the symptoms. Birth control pills can be dangerous to women. My own daughter almost died from pancreatitis. She had very high triglycerides and birth control pills made them skyrocket and she developed pancreatitis. This is a rare side effect but it’s a big deal if you’re the one that gets sick. Since my daughter went off birth control pills, she has not had pancreatitis and her triglycerides are under control. A friend of mine is in very bad health because birth control pills caused blood clots for her.
This whole issue is not about contraception or being able to get birth control pills. It’s about religious liberty. I am so sick of people believing the liberal media.
TG, respectfully, I am someone who writes prescriptions. I am familiar with the side-effects of contraceptives (which are of concern for most medications), and do not take my thoughts on this from the “liberal media.” Unfortunately, I have first hand knowledge of the lack of coverage for contraceptives. It is much more pervasive than you apparently think. My point is in-line with what you said. If the Church allows birth control pills to treat disease or the symptoms, why all the opposition to it’s coverage? Why can it’s use not be left up to conscious?
Further, to the issue of religious freedom, many religions feel that blood transfusion is not acceptable. Should this not be covered, in the name of religious freedom? Additionally, as far as I know, it is not a right for employers to provide health insurance. Neither is it a right to receive government funds. I propose a new idea that would solve this and many problems in health-care. Remove the employer from the equation. The purchase of health insurance should be similar to the purchase of car insurance, where people can freely choose what coverage they want, need, or don’t need. I am glad to hear that your daughter recovered from her pancreatitis. Blessings.
@ concerned Catholic. You are missing the whole point here. Our Catholic faith is morally opposed to the use of ANY birth control for the purpose of birth control except for NFP because it thwarts Gods design and plan for us. You call yourself Catholic but your words and actions aren’t. We need to follow the Church’s teachings on faith and morals. The Church can’t and won’t go against it’s beliefs. As far as someone that is against blood transfusions and other things, I guess they’ll have to fight their own battle.
As an employer I do agree that health insurance isn’t right, but try keeping employees without it.
Fr. Leo thank you for speaking out so beautifully on this matter. Like you said we need to be heard. I pray that more and more priest, Bishops and religious will speak out on this very serious matter. Speak Lord, I pray your servents will be ready to listen.
