Mary Is The Answer To Luke Warmness And Casual Catholicism!

Secular And Casual Catholicism Has Given Great Advantage To The Ideology Of Atheism!

From:  The Catholic

In my column of April 26, 2012, I shared with you an Easter homily delivered by a priest friend of mine in Detroit. I also spoke of a secular Catholicism that has slowly eroded a strong and enduring faith by taking a casual approach to the matters of religion, even in the passing on of our faith to our children and grandchildren.

This has given a great advantage to the ideology of atheism that seeks to educate children to despise the beliefs of their parents. Certainly this is the work of the Evil One, “prowling like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8).

Mary’s support

Often, we think of the devil as the counterpoint to God. And yet, the devil is in fact one of God’s creatures, a fallen angel. In that regard, it is more theologically precise to view Satan’s rebellion against God as set over and against the obedient “fiat” of Mary. In other words, her faith-filled obedience stands in marked contrast to the devil’s rejection of God’s will.

True to God’s prediction in Genesis 3:15, Satan despises Mary for allowing herself to be used as the instrument through whom our Savior entered the world. His intent is to do whatever it takes to thwart God’s plan for salvation.

Yet, as we have just celebrated in Holy Week, Christ’s death and resurrection has defeated the devil’s grasp on us and removed death’s dark hold over us. The wood of the Cross has become the sign of our salvation.  And whenever we meet the Cross, Mary remains standing beneath it, offering her strong yet silent support.

As Pope Benedict XVI has observed: “In our day, Our Lady has been given to us as the best defense against the evils that afflict modern life; Marian devotion is the sure guarantee of her maternal protection and safeguard in the hour of temptation” (Aparecida, Brazil, May 2007).

In my family, we grew up with a regular practice of attending Our Mother of Perpetual Help devotions and praying the family rosary. I still believe that these are powerful means of growing in holiness. I highly recommend them, especially in this month dedicated to the Mother of God.

As Gerard Manly Hopkins wrote, Mary is “our tainted nature’s solitary boast.” She has been given to us as a model and a guide. How can we not but take advantage of so great a gift?

its just a great thing to know the role of Mary in the salvation of mankind. Lets imitate her keep begging her to grant to us her numerous graces till we see her face to face in heaven.

Pondering the sorrows of our Blessed Mother leaves me to believe that she did not have time to be causal about her son, Jesus. Our Blessed Mother continues to lead and gently tell us to pray, pray, pray in all things. It is a scary world, especially with the non-catholic ideas of our government. Let’s keep praying and forming rosary groups and invite our priest to bless us. Peace be with you all and thank you to our blessed priests!

How true it is that going through our Blessed Mother is one of the best way to express our faith in God. She has always answered my prayers and I will never stop thanking her for all the help she has given on my behalf. She is, indeed, the most powerful intercessor.

Jesus said…if you want Grace and Miracles…go to my Mother! Yes, we can go straight to God, but if we go through Mary, there is two of us praying to God! (and what a powerful helper!) Our Lord cannot refuse anything to His beautiful Mother! She will always intercede for us if only we ask and keep persevering in prayer.

We can’t all be Mother Teresa, Bishop Sheen, or John Paul II. History has seen the likes of these many times and we are the richer for their contributions to the faith we hold dear. But keep in mind; with few exceptions all of us can add our portion to the value of our faith and the treasures of the Church of the Apostles and the saints through living simple, humble, and obedient lives within our station.
However, no matter how humble or noble our position may be our true commonality is brought together and best offered to God for the sake of His kingdom through prayer. Yes, PRAYER has and will forever be the most powerful weapon against the evil which has engulfed the world with such brutal force and vicious intent as is evident in our time.
Our time is also Our Lady’s time. Her many apparitions around the world over the years reveals she constantly prays for us and humbly begs that we join her in prayer for a world adrift in a sea of sin. We need to turn our eyes and ears from the blaring glitter of secular guile being aimed at us and open the voices of our hearts and join with her in fulfilling the Creator’s promise to mankind. Pray with the words and thoughts which define our hope for the future of all mankind to our most merciful God who alone can lead us from the misery this world has fashioned for us. Our Father in heaven is eager to hear the voices of those who join with the pleas of His bride, the new Eve and mother of His Son, who was named in the Garden of Eden to, in her time, together with the Holy Spirit return and crush the head of evil for mankind’s new generation.

I love Courageous Priest. But I see some missing names I wish were there. Is there no room here for those who have been accused of some impropriety? I feel strongly for those priests who have been ostracized because someone accused them of something. Accusation seems to carry swift judgement by those in the Church who should be executors of Christ’s love and mercy. Shouldn’t we stand up for those who have been accused, until such time as they are proven to be outlaws? I am still reeling from the loss of Fr. John Corapi, and Fr. Tom Eutenauer, and Fr. Guarnizo of late. Then there is Fr. Gordon MacRae, imprisoned for 18 years for crimes he did not commit. There are so many more. What about these priests? Should we not all be praying for them too? Can’t you hold them in a special place of prayer on your site? Remember, this site is called Courageous Priest.
