Marriage Will Always be the Union Between One Man and One Woman

WASHINGTON —The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments April 28, on the constitutionality of states defining and recognizing marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

Commenting on the oral arguments before the Court, Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), said, “Today is a moment of great consequence. Marriage is a perennial institution, with deep roots in who we are and in our nation’s culture and laws. Marriage is and always will be the union between one man and one woman. This truth is inseparable from the duty to honor the God-given dignity of every human person. We pray that the justices will uphold the responsibility of states to protect the beautiful truth of marriage, which concerns the essential well-being of the nation, especially children. Children have a basic right, wherever possible, to know and be loved by their mother and father together. The Church will always defend this right and looks to people of good will to continue this debate with charity and civility.”

The Supreme Court is expected to issue a ruling by the end of June.

  • I’ve thought about this a lot, and the issue of children who are hard to adopt is it better to be adopted by a gay couple than not at all. The answer is no. It should be a man and a woman, married, not living together. I think it is alright for a single man or single woman to adopt although it is not the ideal. However, it is never right for a gay couple. It’s not the type of atmosphere for a child to grow up in. As far as marriage that should only be between one man and one woman. Period.

  • I do agree a marriage should be between a husband and wife not two lady’s getting married two men that’s not right way to bring up children

In Otford, for 700 years, the nightingales do not sing, ever sense Saint Thomas Beckett banned them for disturbing his prayer. Charity to adopted children and civility in charity means we can never allow orphans to be turned over to homosexual couples – never. Jesus is the vine: I have seen with my own eyes the pruning and cutting of the dead anglican branch – Jesus give our Bishops the Spirit of Thomas Beckett, to fight for the souls of the wayward and protect the children of the Holy Church.

Should a widow(er) be required to give up her/his children? Is a non-Catholic gay couple incapable of loving a child? Should unmarried persons be banned from adopting children?

In Jesus Name, I bind and loose the Deaf and Dumb Spirit, the Perverse Spirit, The Lying Spirit, The Jealous Spirit, the Spirit of Fear, the Anti-Christ Spirit and all other demonic spirits coming against this nation and all Christian Churches and I send these spirits back to the foot of the Cross never to return. Lord, fill the void with the Breath of Heaven, the Holy Spirit and His army of Angels to protect the country and the church. Angels of God, stand guard at every corner of this nation, from the north to the south from the east to the west and protect this most beautiful creation of Almighty God, the United States of America and bring us back to a nation under God with Liberty and Justice for all….NOT JUST FOR SOME, BUT FOR ALL including those in their mother’s womb. Then, Lord, as the Deaf and Dumb spirit leaves, open up the ears and the hearts and minds of the Supreme Court Justices to hear, to know and to speak the truth, the Word of God and to stop writing new laws…in the name of Jesus, the name above all others, we pray! Jesus is Lord! Alleluia!
