Priest for Life – Many ask why pastors do not preach more about abortion. One reason that some give is that they do not want to hurt the people in the congregation who have had abortions.
Now it is certainly true that there are people in the congregation who have had abortions, and it is also true that they have pain.
But if they are in pain from their abortion, and the pastor is silent about the topic, what are they to think? They could conclude that the pastor doesn’t know about their pain, or doesn’t care about it, or that though he knows and cares, there is no hope.
But none of these is true. He does know, he does care, and there is hope – and that is precisely why he needs to speak up.

Courageous priest< The question is why are so many pastors/priests afraid to ruffle , or challenge thier parishioners to live a fully Catholic holy life? A few times I have heard priests/pastors preach about the evil of abortion. But the sacredness, the indissoulubility of marriage? even less. how often do priests preach that it is immoral to abandon your marriage, your children and divorce? they wont touch that subject. Encouraging parishioners to go to confession more than once a year? -hardly ever hear that preached. Informing their parishioners that one should not be presenting themselves for communion if they are in a state of sin?- many Catholics recieve holy eucharist while in a state of mortal sin and dont realize/dont care that they are commiting a sacrilidge.
we need more priests like Fr corapi who are not afraid to say it like it is. otherwise more souls will continue to be lost.
Last Sunday on Aug 2nd, one of the readings was from Colossians:
“Put to death, then, the parts of you that are earthly: immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and the greed that is idolatry.
Stop lying to one another,
since you have taken off the old self with its practices
and have put on the new self,
which is being renewed, for knowledge, in the image of its Creator.”
The reading would have been the segway into a talk about JP2′s Theology of the Body or a talk about the necessity to practice chastity and celibacy and how that relates to single people, preCana, married, divorced, homosexuals, etc.
Unfortuneately those issues were not addressed.
Father talked instead about money stewardship and greed as discussed in Luke 12:13.
Talks concerning money stewardship and greed are necessary.
But immorality, impurity, passion, and evil desire are far greater habit forming evils against the indwelling Holy Spirit and those have far greater life changing consequences.
I think another reason abortion isnt talked about is being afraid your going to lose parishoners.Money! Remember we must encourage people to vote for candidates that are pro life. Most democrats dont care about that and will still vote for democrats. If you know that the candidate is Pro murderous abortion and you still vote for him isnt the blood on your hands too? Just like if you look at another woman with a lustful heart its the same as adultry? I would think so. So lets sum it up. If you talk about doing whats right to parishiners when voting which is Im sure what God would want us all to do but you dont because you may make some people mad and leave your church then let them leave. Stand up for these innocent children and do not let money, congregation numbers or anything stend in your way to the Truth. I myself even think its talked about a lot with most churches not to bring up the subject because of different reasons and its really a shame and hypocriticle and God knows it. Sorry if I seem mean but I have been in a lot of churches and love Jesus but whenever I talk about abortion no one wants to talk about it. It’s Hush Hush… I cant believe it really. God Bless
We need more people to stand up and cry out on the atrocity of abortion! Not afraid to shout out that all who believe in abortion must Repent of their sins and they will be forgiven. There is still time. But they must truly Repent and do what ever they can to reverse the abortion law in this country. One way is voting for pro life candidates and Judges. The other way is marching on washington. All Christians should be marching on washington all the time till its stopped.
Its seems to me like Christians are getting comfortable with abortion. Can you believe it. They put on Horse Blinders.
I believe in command responsibility. the bishop in their respective archdiocese should be made to answer. hate to say this, cardinal George of Chicago is one silent …….!!! if he doesnt have the guts, should step aside, and so are the majority of parishes in his AOR! and thats why we have Catholics that are pro-Liberal, pro-abortion. Kennedys, Pelosi, Biden Giuliani, etc. and thats why I only give money to the pro-life cause ONLY!
