Is The Lord Truly Present In The Eucharist? You Better Believe It!

Msgr. Charles Pope - It was almost 15 years ago. I was At Old St. Mary’s here in D.C. celebrating Mass in the Latin (Extraordinary Form). It was a solemn high Mass. I don’t suppose I thought it any different than most Sunday’s but something quite amazing was about to happen.
As you may know the ancient Latin Mass is celebrated “ad orientem” (towards the Liturgical East). Priest and people all face one direction. What this means practically for the celebrant is that the people are behind him. It was time for the consecration. The priest is directed to bow low, his forearms on the altar table the host between his fingers.
As directed I said the venerable words of Consecration in a low but distinct voice, Hoc est enim Corpus meum (For this is my Body). The bells rang as I genuflected.
But behind me a disturbance of some sort, a shaking or rustling in the front pews behind me to my right. And then a moaning or grumbling. What was that? It did not really sound human, more like the grumbling of a large animal such as a boar or a bear, along with a plaintive moan that did not seem human. I elevated the host and wondered, “What was that?” Then silence. I could not turn to look easily for that is awkward for the celebrant in the ancient Latin Mass. But still I thought, What was that?
But it was time for the consecration of the chalice. Again, bowing low and pronouncing clearly and distinctly but in a low voice: Hic est enim calix sanguinis mei, novi et æterni testamenti; mysterium fidei; qui pro vobis et pro multis effundetur in remissionem pecatorum. Haec quotiescumque feceritis in mei memoriam facietis (for this is the cup of my Blood, of the new and eternal covenant; the mystery of faith; which will for the many be shed unto the remission of sins. When so ever you do this, you do it in my memory).
Then, I heard another sound this time an undeniable moan and then a shriek as some one cried out: “Leave me alone Jesus! Why do you torture me!” Suddenly a scuffling as some one ran out with the groaning sound of having been injured. The back doors swung open, then closed. Then silence.
Realization – I could not turn to look for I was raising the Chalice high over my head. But I knew in an instant that some poor demon-tormented soul had encountered Christ in the Eucharistic, and could not endure his real presence displayed for all to see. And the words of Scripture occurred to me: Even Demons believe and tremble (James 2:19).
Repentance – But just as James used those words to rebuke the weak faith of his flock I too had to repent. Why was a demon-troubled man more aware of the true presence and astonished by it than me? He was moved in the negative sense to run. Why was I not more moved in a positive and comparable way? What of the other believers in the pews? I don’t doubt that any of us believed intellectually in the true presence. But there is something very different and far more wonderful in being moved to the depth of your soul! It is so easy for us to be sleepy in the presence of the Divine, forgetful of the miraculous and awesome Presence available to us.
But let the record show that one day, almost 15 years ago, it was made quite plain to me that I held in my hands the Lord of Glory, the King of heaven and earth, the just Judge, and Ruler of the kings of the earth. Is the Lord truly present in the Eucharist? You’d better believe it, even demons believe that!

Prayer to End the American Holocaust of Abortion,
the Murder of Our Young Defenseless Children

In the name of Jesus Christ and through the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary in union with the Holy Spirit and all the Holy Angels I command you , satan and your evil spirits not to block my prayers and not to block the healing of this country from the crimes of abortion and ignorance of sin.
In the name of Jesus Christ and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary in union with the power of the Holy Spirit and all the Holy Angels I ask You, Heavenly Father, to end the practice of abortion in this country and in this world.
In the name of Jesus Christ and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary in union with the power of the Holy Spirit and all the Holy Angels I ask the Heavenly Father to protect all unborn defenseless people, defenseless babies still in the wombs of their mothers so that they may live, just as we live. The mother’s body belongs to You, Almighty God and Father. The person in the mother’s womb belongs to You, Almighty God and Father. We belong to You Almighty God and Father. We have no right to destroy what You have created! You knew our names before we were in our mother’s wombs. Let no man or no woman destroy what is rightfully Yours. Let the American holocaust end! 53 million and counting, on average over 3000 babies killed every day in America. Let the slaughter of the innocents end. Let the power of Your love overpower us so we have the wisdom and the strength to end our sinful ways, to end our shameful display of rebelliousness. Help us Almighty God and Father in the name of Jesus, Your Dearly Beloved Son. Have the Mercy on our hearts to soften them. Have mery on our eyes that our spiritual blindness may end. Have mercy on our passions that they may be tamed and directed to helping each other instead of destroying our youngest and most defenseless. Give us the wisdom to recognize that we have no right, no choice, no Constitutional authority to kill babies. Please help our president to lead us out of this abyss of sin we are in. Give Him Heavenly eyes, loving, spiritual eyes that see how this holocaust is destroying our country as the body count is now 53 million babies and rising every second in this country and in this world. Let America be once again a beacon of hope to the world instead of a place people come to slaughter and sacrifice their young to demons of lust and desire and murder. America and Americans are in denial Lord God Almighty. We have committed a crime that outdoes any other crime in the history of the world and it continues still today. We Americans all pay federal and state taxes to support abortion so we all share in the guilt of the abortion holocaust because we continue to elect officials who support abortion and contraception. The contraceptive pills also abort babies in the womb, young defenseless children, young defenseless people.
We are guilty because do not rise up as a nation to stop this crime, this holocaust. People say I don’t want to talk about abortion. I would rather turn my head and ignore the children being killed down the street. I would rather let it go on and on and on. When will it end. It will never end unless we end the practice of abortion with Your help, Heaven Father.
In the name of Jesus and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, help America realize that we our the Land of the Free, Home of the Brave. Now we have become the Land of the Captives to Sin, Home of the Cowardly. If we are not cowardly then how can this continue for almost 40 years and there is no great outcry in the land? Cry and Cry out for Our Youngest, Our Most Defenseless. Just because you are guilty like me does not mean you cannot repent and transform your wretched soul as Jesus has taught us. Jesus will heal you. Jesus will love you. Jesus wi;; transform you into a new you who loves children and does not want to harm them. People cry and Cry out for Our Mothers who are pregant!!! A baby in the womb is not a choice. A baby is a person created by God. A person who is living and who has the same right to live as all of us do.
In the name of Jesus Christ and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary in union with the power of the Holy Spirit and the all the Holy Angels I ask the Heavenly Father to preserve the sancity of marriage between a man and a woman in this country so that the integrity of the family would be recognized by all as a source of goodness in our country that You meant it be and as ordained by You, God the Father Almighty.
In the name of Jesus Christ and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary in union with the power of the Holy Spirit and all the Holy Angels I ask the Heavenly Father to close all abortion mills in this country, to close all Planned Parenthoods, to defund all support of contraception and abortion in this country, to teach people about Natural Family Planning, to teach couples to get to know each other and have a loving relationship outside of the bedrrom before they marry and only then have a sexual relationship and children. End our culture of lust, desire and violence to life and replace it with a culture of love of life and love of children, respect for children. They are a future. Let us have the audacity to hope for a future.
In the name of Jesus and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary in union with the healing and creative power of the Holy Spirit we ask You, Heavenly Father, to empower President Obama to use his bully pulpit, to repent of his support of abortion, to lead our whole country to repentance before God the Father Almighty for a crime above all crimes. Mr. President, this your personal Armageddon. Lead us now to bow down before God the Father Almighy together as a nation and ask our Heavenly Father for repentance. Lead us all to put on sackcloth and sit in ashes for our crimes against our children just as did the King of Nineveh did. Stop abortion in all its ugly forms. Stop all funding of abortion anbd contraception. Let the word be stricken from our language and our thoughts! Let America again be a country of hope, liberty and life instead of despair, captivity to sin, destruction and death!
We pray all of these things and ask all of these things, Heavenly Father, in Jesus Holy Name and through the Immaculate Heart of Mary in union with the loving power of the Holy Spirit that God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit would be praised, blessed, loved, thanked, honored, adored, worshipped, glorified, and served forever and ever.
We thank you Jesus for redeeming us, for saving us, for teaching us, for dieing for us for being our light in this world of darkness. Let us reach each day for Your Light, Your Love and Your Redemptive Spirit so thatr we may be led to God the Father.
Jesus, let our Heavenly Mother form us to be like You that we may imitate Your ways, Your Truth and Your Life so that we may someday ascend like You to the Heaven and God Our Father to be One with Him, One with You Lord Jesus, One with the Holy Spirit.
Heavenly Father we are not without hope because we still feel your love. In the name of Jesus, Your Dearly Beloved Son, teach us to love you more and more each day so we may see the 53 nillion before us in everything we do and as we go about our daily business. Have the angels hold a baby in front of us to remind us of their worth and right to live! Let us all walk with a collective guilt because of our inaction for years, because of our woeful ignorance, because of our refusal to repent before now.
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus and throught the Immaculate Heart of Mary give us the strength to love You, give us a holy fear of You that we may change our ways and learn true Godly wisdom, give us back lives that we can respect, give us back the country we used to have before we thought killing babies was a convenience and a right of mothers, give us a world free of this terrible sin, give our children freedom in their mother’s wombs not to be afraid to have been conceived by their parents!
Abortion is demonically inspired. Fr. Thomas J. Euteneuer knew this and wrote a book called “Demonic Abortion”. It has been censured and is no longer published. Why is that? His work is still valid. The truth of what he said should not be pushed under a rug so easily, the silencing of a priest who served many years fighting abortion. His work is not under question. Abortion is, of course, demonically inspired. It is the ultimate demonic inspiration. That fact should not be silenced! God is not responsible for abortion and everyone should know that! Pray to God the Father Almoighty every day for help to end abortion and contraception in this country! Give children our love, not a death sentence.
I remember that old story, centuries old, of two protestant pastors who strive to exorcize a possessed woman.
They prayed hard close to her until they could hear the Devil’s voice through the mouth of the woman, scornfully laughing at them and saying:
“I, Satan, am a better believer than you are since, I, Satan, I truly believe that the Eucharist is the true Body and Blood of the Christ.”
They fled immediately scared to death.
