Cardinal Burke Taking On Planned Parenthood In Houston, TX

Houston, Texas, May 5, 2011 / 12:48 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- Top Vatican official Cardinal Raymond L. Burke is set to pray and speak out against abortion at Planned Parenthood’s new facility expansion in Texas.

Raymond Cardinal Burke

Cardinal Burke will pray at the Planned Parenthood facility in Houston, TX on Monday, May 9, 2011

Cardinal Burke is a man of great passion for the pro-life cause and is one of the highest ranking U.S. bishops in the church,” said event organizers from the Catholic Charismatic Center on April 28.

The cardinal serves as prefect of the Apostolic Signatura for the Vatican in Rome.

“His particular presence at this abortion facility will be a very significant moment of official opposition to the abortion industry in America.”

Hundreds are expected to join Cardinal Burke on May 9 outside the Houston clinic, which recently built a sizable addition specifically for late-term abortions.

The prayer vigil is part of two pro-life events slated in the next week which include a “Night for Life” benefit on May 8 with Cardinal Daniel N. DiNardo, Archbishop of Galveston-Houston and head of the U.S. bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities.

The gala will help fund the Pro-life Apostolate of the Catholic Charismatic Center.

“The presence of these two prominent voices for the unborn in this country lends special significance to this Gala and the message that will be spoken regarding Planned Parenthood’s huge expansion in Houston making it the abortion capital of the United States and South America, will be heard by many,” organizers said.

Praise Cardinal Burke and Operation Rescue. Many abortion mills have been shut down thanks to Troy Newman who runs Operation Rescue.

I am so pleased to hear that Cardinal Burke will be at A Planned Parenthood facility to protest. God Bless him and all that will be there with him. I am 82 years old and I have marched in protest against abortion since 1969 before Roe v Wade in 1972. I tried to tell people not to support abortion. I said it was not women’s health that women would be sickly ever afterward from abortion. I knew because women in my family had experienced female problems and psychological symptoms and terrible secret regrets. I’m not a Doctor just an old lady but I have seen the personal shambles in people’s lives. We must stop abortion. These Videos exposing the planned Parenthood sales of Baby parts ( though hideous) are a blessing because people need to know what they have been supporting. Maybe now they will decide to help stop abortion.

Praying at a distance does work in closing abortion mills. Recently a Planned Parenthood abortion facility closed in Kenmore, Washington thank to years of prayer at a distance. Our Lady knows no boundaries. Prayers and Presence are powerful weapons against the culture of death.

  • Praying across the street from these death mills will never stop abortion. What will stop the abortions is when the bishops and the cardinals walk into the facility and stand in the “procedure” room. Yes, they’ll be arrested and jailed. And perhaps that will get the kind of news coverage that something must change. Bishops of the church put their reputation on the line to save the lives of people who are on the line. Standing at a distance is never going to do it. Walk inside and force the issue. Their vestments are red for a purpose.

Just found out about Cardinal Burke’s visit to Planned parenthood today from Michael Voris’ website. Not a word from our local pulpit which at times seems to double as a sort of local Democrat Party headquarters for our Social Justice committee. Nothing coming from the Chancery downtown either. God Bless Cardinal Burke and his courage to stand up to pure evil. Please God, send us more holy men like him. The Church desparately needs him.
