Bishop Thomas Paprocki Admonishes His Governor

Catholic Politicians . . . “Are
Accountable to Catholic Authority”

Bishop Thomas Paprocki Admonishes His Governor

Most Reverend Thomas John Paprocki Bishop of Springfield – “This is a an official press release by the Most Reverened Bishop Thomas John  Paprocki.”

After the Illinois House of Representatives approved legislation that would require the state to recognize same-sex unions, Governor Pat Quinn was quoted as saying, “My religious faith animates me to support this bill.” He did not say what religious faith that would be, but it certainly is not the Catholic faith. If the Governor wishes to pursue a secular agenda for political purposes, that is his prerogative for which he is accountable to the voters. But if he wishes to speak as a Catholic, then he is accountable to Catholic authority, and the Catholic Church does not support civil unions or other measures that are contrary to the natural moral law.

P.S. – Would you do Courageous Priest a favor and share this info with your friends on Facebook, Twitter or Email right now? We truly appreciate it. Or leave a comment, we would love to hear what you think.

AMEN TO BISHOP PAPROCKI! HE IS TRULY A GOOD BISHOP AND WE NEED MORE LIKE HIM. I BLAME THE CONDITION OF OUR CATHOLIC CHURCH ON THE WEAK AND COWARDLY LEADERS. SATAN SEEMS TO BE IN ALL HIS GLORY. PEOPLE NEED TO SPEAK OUT AGAINST ABORTION, SAME SEX MARRIAGES AND ALL THE OTHER EVILS. GOD BLESS THIS GOOD BISHOP AND I WILL PRAY FOR HIM AND THE OTHERS THAT ARE LIKE HIM.

More power to those in authority in our Catholic Church!
Its either RIGHT or WRONG! No grey areas.
May we have more such Bishops.

Bishops need to speak to the sin of “shacking up” and same sex marriages together then it wouldn’t attacking one group. I asked my Priest why living together was never admonished from the pulpit twenty five years ago. His answer was oh we don’t talk about things like that we are to preach the Gospel. My children were heading in that direction at the time and they did. Heterosexuals demeaned marriage first and one sin leads to another bigger one, a little to try and close the barn door on that one, we will all pay for those sins.

WORDS ALONE MEAN NOTHING TO THESE SO CALLED CATHOLIC POLITIANS

WHAT IS NEEDED IS FOR BISHOPS TO TAKE ACTIONS USING THEIR AUTHORITY

TO EX-COMMUNICATE THEM .STAND UP BISHOPS TALK IS CHEAP !

WOW!!! A Bishop who is a real shepherd. This is called Leadership 101….namely speaking Truth to Power and Evil, and acting unambiguously, succinctly, with charity, clarity, courage and humility. If we had 100 more Bishops just like him the Church would be transformed in the USA. Sounds like he read, understands, believes and ACTS on the advice of the great St Augustine

“THE TRUTH IS LIKE A LION. YOU DON’T HAVE TO DEFEND IT. LET IT LOOSE. IT WILL DEFEND ITSELF.”
    (St Augustine)

God Bless Him and Mary protect always and May all his fellow Bishops, priest and clergy fearlessly follow his example.

Thank you for your continued defense of the one, true faith. However, we will all need to witness to the truth, especially when politicians play the role of false peacemaker and perpetuate lies. These often narcisstic power brokers are either genuinely “graceless” and therefore blind to genuine love, or they are knowingly deceptive and deliberately abetting the evil one.

  • AMEN.

To be a Catholic is to be a Catholic at all times, in all things. Catholics do not compartmentalize their Faith and Morals.

More Catholic Bishops must speak up and admonish the Faithful to be whole and holy Catholics. Jesus was never not the Son of God and Catholics are to follow His example and be ‘little Christs of God’ never separated from our Lord and Savior.

AMEN Bishop Paprocki. The Angels are dancing and satan is cringing!
