Daily Prayer for Priests

O my Jesus, I beg You on behalf of the whole Church ... give us holy priests. You yourself maintain them in holiness.

O Divine and Great High Priest, may the power of Your mercy accompany them everywhere and protect them from the devil's traps and snares, which are continually being set for the souls of priests.

May the power of Your Mercy, O Lord, shatter and bring to naught all that might tarnish the sanctity of priest, for You can do all things. - St. Faustina (Diary, 1052)

Bishop Soto Ruins Gay and Lesbian Gathering

Bishop Jaime Soto

HT St. John’s Valdosta blog – Bishop Jaime Soto, Coadjutor for the Diocese of Sacramento, addressed the National Association of Gay and Lesbian Ministries (at their invitation). Several members, expecting the liberal affirmation they were used to, walked out when Bishop Soto surprised them by speaking the TRUTH of the faith, including this statement:

“Sexual intercourse, outside of the marriage covenant between a man and a woman, can be alluring and intoxicating but it will not lead to that liberating journey of true self-discovery and an authentic discovery of God. For that reason, it is sinful. Sexual relations between people of the same sex can be alluring for homosexuals but it deviates from the true meaning of the act and distracts them from the true nature of love to which God has called us all. For this reason, it is sinful.”

Which is more surprising the invitation or the Bishop’s quote?

P.S. – Would you do Courageous Priest a favor and share this info with your friends on Facebook, Twitter or Email right now? We truly appreciate it. Or leave a comment, we would love to hear what you think.

Thank you Bishop Soto for speaking the word of our Lord and reminding people that are having a hard time seeing clearly in our world today.

    God Bless You

This is an issue that few in the Christian community want to address. It’s is too uncomfortable and too politically incorrect for them, so they avoid it or ignore it. In the meantime, gay rights groups, parades, demonstrations, Hollywood movies and the bias media support and perpetuate it, as “open minded contemporary intellectual thinking”. Thank you Bishop Soto for expressing your views and supporting it with Roman Catholic values and biblical based understanding.

May God Bless you and other Christian leaders, that they will not avoid speaking out on this matter.

Thank you, thank you Bishop Soto. The Church would not be in such turmoil if ALL shepherds spoke the True teachings of Christ and Church as you do.
    Sincerely in Christ

What a blessing to have a Bishop that speaks the word of God and did not dilute it to appease a popular political position. Being faithful takes one that beleives eternal salvation is real and the truth never changes. God be with you.

It is good to see and hear that someone is willing to tell the truth. I am sure that they were surprised! In all that is said, we are called to love them and not support them or their issues. Way to go!
